12 Questions with Gabriella Sutherland Photography

Booking your wedding photographer is an important decision that should’nt be taken lightly! Consider all the things you want in your photography for your wedding day- the editing style, variety of images your looking for, and even your chemistry! It’s important that you two work together well to ensure you get what your looking for on your special day. Here are 12 common questions answered about my wedding photography services.

The Hamiltons

1. How would you describe your photography style?
Others have labeled my style as Earthy, romantic, moody, cinematic, candid, journalistic, storytelling and organic. I have a base of slightly moody while trying to keep the exposure and light up just enough so that you can still see faces illuminated and I strive to bring a warm tone into the photos as well.

2. Do you have specific packages?
I have 4 main packages that vary in price and what is included. They range from 4, 6, 8 and 10 hours with some including a free engagement session (travel fee if applicable). I also offer custom packages if that works better for your wedding day! Elopement packages are also available.

The Becks

3. What services are included in your packages?
Every package includes an online gallery, personal printing rights and a custom USB that all your wedding (and engagement photos if applicable) will go on and be sent to you after your gallery is finished! When you book with me, I will also send you a digital wedding welcome guide (my gift to you!) that will include a sample wedding day timeline, tips on planning your wedding with your photography in mind, and lots of advice to help get the most out of your wedding photography.

4. What equipment do you use?
I shoot with a Sony a7Riii and use a 35 mm most of your wedding day (unless your ceremony space requires a different lens- and I have an arsenal of different lenses that will be perfectly capable and ready to tackle your wedding day!)

5. Can I view your portfolio?
Yes! You can view my past client galleries under the “recent work” tab of my website (Where they are listed under “weddings”, “engagements”, and “lifestyle” categories) and you are also welcome to message or email me asking for specific examples.

6. Do you work with a team or solo?

I do not automatically include a second photographer in any of my packages, because I am confident and have experience in capturing every moment solo. I offer the option of a second photographer for a small fee, so just let me know if you would prefer that and we will get it covered for you!

7. What are your policies regarding guests taking photos?

While the occasional family member with their video recorder is unavoidable, I always appreciate a “no phones during ceremony” sign. This is to ensure that most phones/devices are put away and the chance of a guest’s phone in the middle of the isle during your ceremony is diminished as much as possible.

The Hamms

8. How far in advance should I book with you?

I always recommend booking as early as possible because I book out a year or more in advance. Most brides book their venue and wedding photographer first and the earliest. Always double check with me to make sure I still have your date available!

9. What do you wear to weddings?

I always wear dress pants and a tucked in dress shirt! If you would like me to match your wedding party (which I somehow manage to do unintentionally 90% of the time) just let me know!

Shelby & Eric

10. When will I receive my sneak peaks?
You will receive your wedding and engagement sneak peaks within 72 hours of your wedding date/session date via Instagram and Facebook and a personal gallery sneak peak link.

11. When should I expect to have my photos?
Your engagement session gallery will be delivered to you within 2 weeks of your session date. Your wedding gallery is guaranteed to be delivered to you within 3 months of your wedding date as stated in my contract.

The Greenlees

12. Are you insured?
Yes! I have business insurance and can provide an insurance certificate for your wedding venue if required.
